The production of charcoal for export shows a tendency to increase at the beginning of 2019.

Jobabo, Las Tunas.- The average daily packing is between 16 and 21 tons, and the influx of containers grew, closing the first month with the delivery of 34 to the port.

At this rate, which according to the experts must be maintained at least in the first four months of the year, the Agro industrial Complex of Production and Benefit of Charcoal will be able to fulfill the plan of 5, 741 packed tons, ready to be commercialized in the European market.

The gradual increase in production was encouraged by the implementation of the weekly payment to workers, who receive an average salary of 1,500 pesos and 20.00 CUC per ton every month, an income that a good part of them manage to duplicate; in addition to other benefits.

The planning for this year took into account that production decreases during the spring months; as well as the reinforcement of the brigades was also achieved, up to 16 distributed throughout Jobabo and neighboring municipalities; and technological improvement, not only of the plant, but also of the equipment that supplies the industry.

The economic advantages of charcoal production are evident. The Agro industrial Complex of Jobabo expects to enter two million Euros, at an average payment between 235 and 315 per ton, depending on the category and the thickness of the wood.
