April: Young People in Revolution

Between March 25th and April 4th, the youngest Cubans celebrate the day dedicated to the anniversaries 58th of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) and the 57th of the Young Communist League (UJC). The activities in Las Tunas include political festivities, work in productive centers and the congratulation to the most outstanding members in different sectors.

Las Tunas, Cuba.-This was announced by Osmel Osorio, member of the National Committee and first secretary of the UJC in the territory. At the same time, he pondered the effort in the stage of militancy in Puerto Padre, the host city of the main events for both birthdays.
"Our province was recognized as the best in the country in the concrete contribution of the youth forces in the productive poles, and on April 2nd simultaneous actions will be carried out in installations of this type throughout the Island. The central invitation will take place in Melanio Ortiz productive pole, in Jobabo, the largest in the province.
"We will go there at least three thousand young people, including representatives of each municipality, for a long day of work, we will start at 7:30 a.m. with an act, in which we will hand over the membership card to new members."
Osorio also reported that on April 3th, the municipal events are scheduled for the anniversary. And on the morning of April 4th, in Birán, the convocation to the 11th Congress of the UJC will be launched, to be held next year.
That event will be supported in Las Tunas with a march that will begin at the University of Medical Sciences and culminate in "Plaza Martiana". Students from various levels of education will participate and it will close with a simple occasion, but with profound revolutionary reaffirmation.
