Santana Santiesteban received such recognition from the hands of Beatriz Tamayo Ramírez, president of the FEU, on the occasion of the 116th anniversary of the birth of Julio Antonio Mella. When thanking the gesture, he affirmed that he received it on behalf of the Communist Party that is the one that accompanies the FEU.
The leader pondered that the organization is present and future of the nation and today is in all sectors of society, although its main task is study.
In the ceremony, the Patria Prize was also awarded to young correspondents who contribute to disseminating the organization's work in social networks and the media in the territory.
Also, students Roberto Acosta Mora and Shakira Granda Rodríguez were recognized for their outstanding participation in the Felix Varela National Festival of Lessons, held recently at the Martha Abreu Central University in Santa Clara.
As part of the tribute to Julio Antonio Mella, leaders of the FEU, students and executives of the University of Las Tunas developed several activities of remembrance to the eternal leader of the Cuban university students.

First secretary of the Communist Party in Las Tunas receives the Alma Mater Award
