For the third consecutive year students of two pre-university students in Lecco, Lombardy, will hold exchanges with their peers from this province in eastern Cuba.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The program, from today 19 and until April 24, is the newest fruit of the rich harvest of the twinning between that Italian region and Las Tunas, which already exceeds 20 years of existence. As occurred in 2017 and 2018, a new group of girls and boys from the Bertacchi Institute and the Manzoni Liceo will learn about the characteristics of the educational system here and will share, respectively, with the students of the El Cucalambé Professional Art School, and the Luis Urquiza Jorge Pre-university Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE).

During the week of stay in Las Tunas, the visitors will also learn about the economic and social activities of the territory through tours of the Majibacoa sugar mill, Construtores del 2000 childcare center, and their presence at the opening and closing of the Giustino-Fabio Di Celmo Children's Soccer Tournament.

Representatives of these institutions, as well as the Coordination in Lombardy of the Italy-Cuba National Association of Friendship (Anaic) and the delegation here of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) have coincided in highlighting the value that has had this type of activities to put the new generations of both countries in contact with the rich flow of solidarity that has united the northern Italian region with the Balcony of Eastern Cuba for more than two decades.

The presence here of the Bertacchi Institute and the Manzoni Liceo will be followed by the traditional contribution of the Giovanni Ardizzone volunteer work brigade, also from the Coordination in Lombardy of the Anaic, which from April 23 to May 3 will continue the work begun last year in the Jorge Aleaga Peña special school.
