The Antonio Guiteras sugar mill put an end to the 2018-2019 harvest in Las Tunas, after 185 days of operations, without reaching the ultimate goal, since it was impossible to produce some 22 thousand tons of the amount initially planned

Las Tunas, Cuba.- However, it is not possible detracting from the management of the agro-industrial workers, who, through many obstacles, achieved 87 percent of their aim and the third largest production in the country, at the same time that exceeded by 49,000 tons what was realized in the previous harvest.

The "Majibacoa" responded again, And how!. It was the only complier sugar mill of the province, and the one that produced more sugar over the planned, to contribute to the nation.

It was expected much more of the "Antonio Guiteras Colossus" than the 67,197 tons delivered, 85 percent of its commitment; as well as "Colombia", whose workers could barely achieve 65 percent of the plan.

Although Azcuba has not yet released the list of the worst industries, it is likely that "Amancio Rodríguez" will maintain its position in that nothing-honorable selection. It was the one of worse closing in Las Tunas, with only 5, 410 tons manufactured -31 percent of its plan- and the only one that decreases -three thousand tons- in relation to the previous harvest.

The causes of the breach were already exposed in meetings held recently in the base business units and the Company, and plans of measures were adopted that must be implemented verbatim, taking into account that the 2019-2020 harvest will begin in Las Tunas next November.

Immediately, two major tasks are imposed: the cane sowing of the spring season, already in its final stretch, and the execution of Technical Standard 52 (cleaning, dismantling, diagnosis and conservation of industrial machinery).
