The Provincial Administration Council agreed to set the topmost price of products and services that self-employed workers sell and perform in Las Tunas, thereby avoiding possible speculation and inflation following the announced salary increase to the budgeted sector and pensioners.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- This measure also seeks putting an end to their excessive increase, in recent months, in various activities carried out by this fragment of the non-state sector; a situation that had not been confronted to date, and that had been questioned and criticized by the population.

A working group was created in the province to comply with this provision; and in the municipal and provincial departments of Finance and Prices, telephone numbers and email accounts were enabled for the population to report any violation in this regard.

In April, this government body had set top prices for agricultural products, a stipulation that is currently maintained.

On June 28th, as part of a series of measures to boost the economy, the Cuban Government decided to increase the salary to the budgeted sector and pensioners, thereby adopting a series of provisions that prevent the rise in prices of products and services, since this would spoil the positive effect of increasing the purchasing capacity of the population.
