"Amancio", Las Tunas.- During the summer months work is carried out on the rehabilitation of hydro sanitary networks, the change of carpentry and roofs, and the repair of classrooms, to guarantee the necessary infrastructure conditions for next school year.
The tasks also include electrical connections, perimeter fences, and specialty laboratories. In addition, sports fields, school libraries and places for artistic presentations are added, which are restored as part of a program aimed at making the school the most important cultural and recreational center of the community.
One of the priority objectives of the refurbishing actions is the Juan Manuel Ameijeiras joint-teaching institute, an institution that celebrates the 45th anniversary of its foundation next September.
The José Luis Tassende Elementary School, located in the El Uno neighborhood, is still pending from investment; it is in the foundation phase.
