The mini-industry located in the community of Dumañuecos is one of the main investments reopened in Manatí municipality, on the occasion of the National Rebellion Day and the 93rd anniversary of the birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

 

Manatí, Las Tunas.- This factory will manufacture a series of new type sealed productions, in nylon, pot and can. Today we have all the machinery. In addition, the mini-industry is framed in the Dumañuecos Productive Pole, which guarantees the raw material for further processing," says Elcido Sariol López, director of the Food Basic Business Unit (UEB by its Spanish acronym).

The creation of this factory with advanced technology is achieved under the auspices of the Project for Strengthening Municipal Capacities for Local Development (Prodel by its Spanish acronym), which makes possible to fill the lack of productions related to canned food.

Abel Peña Alfonso, director of the Local Development Center, says that "The mini-industry has a staff able of producing 1.5 tons daily and has the necessary equipment to produce an important group of canned foods, because many of these productions previously had to be sold at a harvest peak."

Yorlaine Monteagudo Morales, director of the Integral Company of Food Industry in Las Tunas, said that with the new factory, today the province has seven micro-industries and a mini-industry located in the main municipality.

He added that the mini-industry located in Manatí along with those of Puerto Padre and "Amancio" are those of most recent restoration. Regarding the strategies drawn up by the country's management, she pointed out that they have the objective of achieving the productive linkage, a process in which the mini-industry facilitates that a greater quantity of food, at moderated prices, reaches the population.

Inaugurated on August 4th, the facility has social impact as source of employment for about 12 people; in the economic order, it benefits the Food Company and the municipality, with assortments in high demand in the communities.
