Las Tunas, Cuba.- According to José Serrano Brito, a government official in the province, more than 3,300 meetings will take place in the 668 districts of the territory. He affirms that the exchanges must become an event of support to the actions of the country in the current economic situation. That is why, several activities should be held to generate a movement in the neighborhoods before the aforementioned process.

He also highlighted the importance of the preparation of the delegates to achieve the success of the event. "They have a great responsibility to be accountable to those who elected them. It is one of the forms of our socialist democracy, which allows the participation of the people in the exercise of government.

He also said that the assemblies should be useful not only to know the concerns of the neighbors, but also to report on certain economic and social issues that affect the neighborhood and also the nation. At the same time, it serves to commit the population to face indiscipline.

The dissemination and organization of these meetings is the responsibility of the delegate and all community structures with their own efforts and resources. "It is a collective task that includes community work groups, organizations and executives of administrative institutions that serve in different places.

During the first process of the current term of office, 9,595 approaches were formulated, of which 8,071 received a solution, which represents 84 percent of the total. Of the 4,082 addressed to the administrative agencies, 2,559 were resolved and the causes that prevented the solution of 919 are explained, while 604 are pending.

These issues are going to be evaluated in various scenarios before October 1st. Thus, for example, they are going to be the subject of analysis in the 83 popular councils of the territory, in the meeting of the direction of the Provincial Assembly with the directors of the administrative entities and in the accountability of the Councils of the Municipal Administration to the assemblies. The purpose is to arrive at the second process of the present period of office with a greater percentage of the resolved approaches.
