Las Tunas, Cuba.- With the presence of a panel headed by Manuel Pérez Gallego, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party and Jaime Chiang Vega, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power here, the strategy of several sectors to affect as little as possible the population in face of the current situation with fuel was released.
"But the economic suffocation pursued by Trump administration against Cuba and Venezuela will not succeed with the participation of all the people," they affirmed in this citizen participation program, in which a call was made for each person to collaborate with the purpose of reducing electricity consumption.
In this regard, Carlos Arias Sobrino, director of the Electric Company in the territory, said that of the more than 191 thousand clients of the entity, 184 thousand are from the residential sector; hence the families are determinants so that there are no blackouts in the power supply.
The entities - he added - have already adopted measures with flexibility in the usual work schedule, so that the workers finish their workdays before, and they can start cooking food before the electric peak, from 6:00 in the afternoon to 11: 00 at night.
He also added the non-use of air conditioning equipment in the administrative areas of the buildings, except where existing technology requires it for its operation; while suggesting that large industries where possible should not be activated at peak hours.
On the generator sets, Arias Sobrino said that in the province there are 310 to be prioritized, but they will only be used when it is essential for this situation, taking into account that this equipment is located in certain places to respond to an emergency situation.
Through the Alto and Claro program, the population expressed their opinions, with suggestions to cushion the current situation with fuel.
