The celebrations for the 223 anniversary of the foundation of the city of Las Tunas will take place between September 23 and 30. A week to review our history, delve into the distinctions that mark the daily life of this region and think together what else we can do for its streets, legends, and fortune.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The organizers stressed that next Monday morning will be the opening of the day at Vicente García Park, and will include, among others, the participation of the Provincial Concert Band. On that same date, at the edge of 10:00 am, the Provincial Museum will host the panel dedicated to the event, with the presence of renowned local researchers.

During the festivities, the artists announce poetic and troubadour performances in different spaces. So do not be surprised, if you see them arriving, full-fledged, the same to the tobacco shop, to a school, a hospital ward or the pharmacy. On the night of September 26, as is traditional, the birthplace of Major General Vicente García González will burn symbolically. Vigorous riders, galloping, will raise again among the flames the cry of Cuba libre!

The closing of the celebrations will be in the Cultural Plaza on the night of September 30, the day of San Jerónimo, patron saint of this city, for catholic believers. Representatives of different artistic expressions will contribute to the homage to the cacti land, no longer so silent.
