Las Tunas, Cuba.- The transitory provisions of the Constitution of the Republic, approved by the deputies to elect the fundamental posts of the State and the National Assembly of the People's Power in Cuba, are thus complied with.
The proposals for the election of the top management of the country constitute a responsibility assumed individually by the deputies - representatives of the people - backed by constitutional and revolutionary principles.
The State Council now reduces its number of members from 31 to 21, among which are the highest authorities of the Parliament.
The final draft candidacies, elaborated by the National Candidatures Commission from the proposals of the deputies from all over the country, will be presented to the National Assembly of People's Power for its approval during the extraordinary session scheduled for next October, when the election of the country's highest governmental posts will also be held.
The process of consultation with the Cuban legislators began last Wednesday and is expected to last until next September 22.
