Las Tunas, Cuba.- Jaime Chiang Vega, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power, told the press that even below what is required in food availability, the increase is notable, and as in August, September ended with a per capita of 20 pounds of various crops and vegetables.
The highest authority of the Government in the territory also highlighted the availability of pork meat and the production of eggs, which reach higher levels than in previous stages, as well as the good start of the sowing of the newly initiated cold campaign.
He expressed that the use of animal traction for agricultural work and the total distribution of the basic basket in six of the eight municipalities of the province should remain, as well as the current system of rearrangement of public transport.
In regard to public transportation, he talked about the sense of solidarity demonstrated in these days, which should remain as a good practice, because thanks to the sensitivity of vehicle drivers from different entities, at bus stops people have had a mean to find a solution to their daily chores.
Chiang Vega said that above difficulties is the will of the province to maintain the Housing Program, and said that by the end of December the more than 600 houses that the State assumes and 573 basic cells (subsidies) must be completed.
For the materialization of this program, it is necessary to continue raising the production of materials with local resources, since the number of people who do not have a decent home is still high, due to weather events.
"One of the greatest efforts that the province should make in the current situation is to guarantee water to 462 communities that receive it by tanker trucks," said the president of the Assembly of the People“s Power in Las Tunas, who pointed out that it will have a solution with the involvement of different entities.
