Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- The provincial delegate of Agriculture, Omar Pérez López, referred to the main achievements during the year, mainly related to the products of the state commission, the delivery of milk that already reaches about two million liters above schedule and the efforts they make to meet the planned meat supply.
He highlighted the main investments that are executed and the successes of exportable items, specifically in tobacco and honey. Pérez López also meant the need to work hard in the manufacture of charcoal to obtain more encouraging results in this product, so demanded in the international market.
In the event held at the La Siguaraya protected crop house, venue of the festivities, the highest authorities of the territory recognized the work of the units of this sector and highlighted the results obtained by the Comprehensive Agricultural Company, worthy of the awards at the provincial level.
Exemplary workers were honored, and those who have spent more than 20, 25 and 50 years dedicated to Agriculture were decorated; while companies such as Apiculture, the Logistics Business Group, Seeds, Computer and Communications, Agricultural Projects, Agro-industrial Grains, Tobacco and Labiofam , of outstanding work in this calendar, were congratulated.
Alberto Zaldívar Almaguer, secretary of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers in the province, expressed the commitment to continue producing more and more; and reaffirmed on behalf of those present that farmers will never understand of irrational laws that prevent the development of the nation.
