Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the squares of 486 primary schools in the territory, the infants received from the hands of their relatives and teachers the blue garment that accredits them members of the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM). The República de Chile semi-boarding elementary school, in this eastern city, hosted the main event.
Adrián Valera Pérez, president of the OPJM in Las Tunas, told the media that these ceremonies of initiation mark the beginning of the Camilo-Che Ideological Day, in which children, adolescents, and young people will carry out multiple activities as a tribute to both heroes.
The youth leader highlighted the creation of the Pioneers for History Movement, with the purpose of delving into the national history; and the initiation celebrations, on October 19, of the new members of the Explorer Pioneers Movement.
