Las Tunas, Cuba.- The strategy of 26 Newspaper for the treatment of gender issues, Trafficking in Persons case, by Elena Diego Parra and Yuset Puig Pupo; and Digital gender gap, by István Ojeda Bello and Dayalé Torres Diéguez, of the Union of Informatics, are included in the workshops.
The journalistic proposals selected to share with participants from several countries collect testimonies and reports that make visible the work of women in the eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas in the production of charcoal, self-employment and the sugar harvest, among other sectors.
My house? Your house? Our house, a report by Leidys María Labrador Herrera, correspondent for the Granma newspaper in Las Tunas, will be part of the panel on the Centers for Orientation to Women and the Family.
According to Cubaperiodistas.cu, the 13th Ibero-American Meeting On Gender and Communication that pays tribute to the prominent journalist Isabel Moya Ríchard, aims to reflect on how to get a demystified look at gender issues in our media, how to create an accurate vision on the issue of trafficking in persons, and why it is necessary to raise awareness in our audiences of when we are in the presence of gender violence.
It will not be just a theoretical event, but it will become a space to expose the results of the Cuban and foreign media and institutions in order to eliminate certain taboos when dealing with gender issues.
