Las Tunas, Cuba.- The productive results are palpable. According to national data, the main line of research and creation is the industry of vaccines and pharmaceuticals, since it produces and commercializes 98 percent of the veterinary medicines in our country and a range of antibiotics, anti-parasites, anesthetics, vitamins, nutritional supplements, anti-inflammatories, antiseptics, therapeutic serums, stimulants and diagnostic reagents.

The entity in Las Tunas, created as a new conception early this year, has increased its production, marketing and service networks. In this sense, Osvaldo Pérez Vega, director of the branch in the Balcony of Eastern Cuba, comments that every month all the plans have been fulfilled and the marketing groups at the territorial level are stronger.

With structural growth, Labiofam has 13 points of sale in the eight municipalities and five of them are located in the center of this capital city, boosting access to the assortments.

MORE BIOPRODUCTS

Fundamentally, the basic manufacturing line has been strengthened in bio-products. In the coverage of the cold season in agriculture, Pérez Vega says that "it is essential to use these and bio-pesticides, so they reinforce their production in the Entomophagous and Entomopathogenic Breeding Centre (CREE), in the municipality of Jobabo.

"The preparation of efficient microorganisms is also significant, which reaches up to 40,000 liters per month. The same happens with mushrooms, which are commercialized with Agriculture".

Among the main activities, the entity seeks peasants who are leaders in each locality, "to whom we will not only deliver the module of bio-products, but they will apply them for the first time with the presence of the service brigade. Consequently, they will contribute to create in other farmers the culture of use of these preparations, which are healthy and stimulating," explained the director.

The work is strengthened at the Río Potrero plant, with the purpose of increasing the yields of stimulants, such as hydrolyzed proteins, for livestock.

CORNSTARCH ARRIVED...

The incorporation to its the offers, some time ago, of the coveted cornstarch and custard of various flavors has meant relief for the home. Now, month after month, the people are around the establishments in search of cornstarch, because its quality is optimal and the price is very affordable when it comes in small format.

The initiative is the result of contracts with Labiofam in Cienfuegos and its glucose factory, the only one of its kind in Cuba, which has as its main lines, from corn, acid and enzymatic glucose, and starch. The wide gamut of syrups and breakfast with chocolate are added.

FOR EXCELLENCE, INFUSIONS

Despite the island's fuel deficit, the company is producing. "It is true that the need is felt, but in the face of difficulties we grow and look for local alternatives," added Osvaldo Pérez Vega.

The institution increases its results. In 2019, it incorporated infusions into commerce, an idea that was born in the province and which, with great acceptance, has already met a demand for more than 30,000 copies.

"Here the medicinal plants are turned into dry drugs and packed. The merchandise, which has great acceptance, is sold in our territory and another lot is sent to Havana.

Such success, without a doubt, has had the seal of all the workers, because in each day the manufactured work of filling, packing and labeling of an assortment is carried out that contributes to increase the culture of tea and to substitute some medicines that could be in lack.

UNRESOLVED MATTER

According to the director, "recently the entity completed the audit to ratify the legitimacy of accounting, a fact that concluded without difficulty, with acceptable compliance and was again certified. However, at the end of September, at the meeting with the highest government authorities of Las Tunas, 26Digital knew that Labiofam did not communicate its financial status to the Provincial Finance Directorate or the National Statistics and Information Office (ONEI).

Vladimir Amat Moro, head of ONEI, explained to this media that these data "are key to estimate the health of the economy of the territory and assess how their sales, income or expenses go on. It is also not possible to know if it had profits or losses, its salary fund, and how much it spent for each peso that entered or what was its productivity.

It is then necessary to walk clearly through the account paths, even more, if it is known that the company's accounting is certified and in none of these months it fails to pay the salary to its workers. Both processes inevitably require such economic data, which Labiofam still does not deliver to the pertinent state agencies.
