A dozen novice singers aspire to win the second edition of the El Artista Soy Yo (The Artist Is Me) Interpretation Contest, sponsored by exponents of the Emiliano Salvador Music House and other colleagues, to stimulate the creation and promote new talents in the province.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- According to Divania Gonzalez, director of the institution, a total of 23 young people initially presented themselves, of which 14 passed to the elimination phase, leaving 12 in the competition so far. "Every Wednesday, starting at 9:00 pm, our center has hosted and will host the competition, until we have a winner. There is a lot of talent in the contest, and the participating boys and girls make it difficult for the jury to decide. "In addition, this initiative not only comes as another option for the summer stage, but it is our grain of sand for the development of 'the most beautiful form of the beautiful in the territory'."
The jury, integrated by figures such as Ernesto Soria (vocal soloist of the music and show business company Barbarito Diez, with 30 years of artistic life), Lays Rodríguez (soloist also of the catalog of excellence of that entity, and member of the Evaluation Commission), Víctor Hidalgo (head of the Technical Department of the Empresa de la Música), Ángel Orlando Matos (choreographer), Rolando Rodríguez (musician graduated from the professional art school El Cucalambé), and Divania González (singer), will evaluate the vocal, scenic and integral quality of the competitors in what becomes for the public, in addition, a proposal of healthy recreation.
Yuslier Lozada, one of the participants, commented to 26: "It is the first time I join. It has been a nice experience. The jury's advice is very useful for our improvement."
"We can see great professionalism in its members, and also in the selection of the works. Besides, there is a lot of quality in the contestants, who get along like friends, we help each other as much as we can and try to do our best on stage."
To promote the contest and its protagonists, there is a page on the social network Facebook under the name El Artista Soy Yo 2023, where people can interact with the artists and vote for their favorite. The competitors still fighting for the scepter are Alfredo Torres, Gabriela Joa, Yorki Pérez, Rosahilis Báez, María de los Ángeles Manresa, Sarahí Hechavarría, Yuslier Lozada, Juan Adolfo Monteagudo, Yanelis Escalante, Olver Calderón, Liliana Campa and Julio César Furones.
