Venezuela-Cuba National Movement of Friendship and Mutual Solidarity

The entry of a US nuclear-powered submarine in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, whose space was hijacked by the United States, was rejected by the Venezuela-Cuba National Movement of Friendship and Mutual Solidarity, according to a statement issued today.

Caracas.- Inmoral and a violation of international law, was the description the organization gave to the installation of a penitentiary compound in this territory in the eastern part of Cuba, where the human rights of the detainees are being violated without prior trial.

The text pointed out that it is historical how US imperialism attacked the Cuban people and its territory, but these acts constitute “a provocative increase," whose political or strategic purposes are uncertain, it added.

The US military high command made public reference in recent times to its intention of “using its military power to ensure its ambitions over the natural resources of Latin America and the Caribbean."

The Venezuela-Cuba National Movement of Friendship and Mutual Solidarity keeps firm its position, and will to promote peace and the true integration of the countries, strengthening the paths of freedom dreamed by our heroes (Simón) Bolívar and (José) Martí, it indicated. (PL)
