The upcoming visit here by Russian President Vladimir will be the most auspicious and fruitful, due to the number of agreements in the most diverse spheres, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

Belgrade.- Speaking to the media after a meeting with Russian Ambassador in Belgrade, Alexander Chepurin, Vucic expressed his exceptional satisfaction with the talks held with the vice president of the Russian government, Yuri Borisov, on the preparations for Putin's visit.

He thanked both the Russian leader and his ambassador here for the support given to the Serbian people and the country in the preservation of its territorial integrity and in its efforts to reach an agreement and not a solution that resulted in pressure, humiliation and unilateral resolutions

For Serbia, he remarked, it is of exceptional significance the energy, infrastructure projects and innovation technologies, but also all other areas in which we have had good cooperation and we can raise it even more.

Regardng Putin's arrival here in January 2019, he said that he is looking forward to it, and he is certain that it will be 'a new link in the chain of very good, close and sincere friendly relations' and an opportunity to raise the level of ties between the two countries even more.

In reference to the recent celebrations for the centenary of the end of the World War I, Vucic recalled that proportionally, Serbia was the country that suffered the most victims and because of this, it is very sensitive to everything that denies or diminishes the human sacrifices of its people.

For this reason, he thanked Russia for its respect for these losses and added that the Serbs know how to appreciate this gesture. (PL)
