South Korea on Sunday denied achievements in the arrangements for an eventual visit by the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong-un, in the next few days.

Seoul.- The spokesman for the Presidency, Yoon Young-chan, also pointed out in a brief communiqué that there are no plans either for a visit by a North Korean vanguard to prepare the president's alleged trip.

Yoon hence clarified speculations circulated by local media in that regard over the past few days, after President Moon Jae-in referred to the possibility of welcoming Kim in Seoul this year.

Even a survey on Thursday showed that 61.3 percent of South Korean citizens support a visit by the DPRK leader, because it would favor denuclearization and peace on the peninsula. (PL)
