Bolivia's government over the past 13 years has invested more than a billion dollars in productive and social projects such as Mi Agua (My Water) and ''Mi Riego'' (My Irrigation), official sources reported Friday.

La Paz.- The National Fund for Productive and Social Investment (FPS) director, Vladimir Sanchez, stated that since 2006 they have been implementing more than 9,000 initiatives in water, irrigation, health, education and roads to redistribute economic surpluses to works and improve the population's quality of life.

Sánchez highlighted the country's impact of these projects, considering that the results of Mi Agua contribute more than 202 million dollars per year to the Gross Domestic Product by strengthening food production.

In the whole of President Evo's administration, from the beginning, this country's development has been based on the generation of surpluses and, at the same time, redistribution with the works we carry out in the FPS, basically redistribution of national income that used to go abroad,' he said.

Since 2011, more than 405 million dollars have been invested in this government program and since 2014; more than 477 million dollars have been executed in Mi Riego for the benefit of 2.1 million people, according to FPS data. (PL)
