Usufructuaries have to work a lot to raise vaarious crops or livestock
Usufructuaries work very hard to raise various crops or livestock farming.

More than 48,000 idle hectares were reported at the end of the first semester in the province of Las Tunas, with special incidence in the main municipality, with some 14,000 that could be used to produce food.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Bringing these spaces into exploitation is a matter of urgency. Although there have been some illegalities in land management, the labor of the usufructuaries has been positive, who received areas that were not in agricultural, livestock, or forestry use, covered with marabou and undergrowth, or misused.

They have faced many difficulties, from the poor quality of the soils to the persistent lack of rain in the territory. But, most of them made their best and cleared weeds to sow various crops or raise different livestock species.

Constantly, these men and women refer to how difficult their beginnings were and their work to improve the soil and promote agriculture or livestock; while reiterating their commitment to produce food for the people and contribute to lower prices.

Given so many empty spaces, it is evident that much remains to be done. Supervision and control measures must also increase, as guarantees of compliance with the law and to materialize the increase in grains, root and green vegetables, meat, and fruits that the population yearns for and needs.
