Bolivia's President, Evo Morales, celebrated Friday the UN Security Council's veto of a resolution imposed by the United States against Venezuela's sovereignty.

La Paz.- We welcome the fact that the UN Security Council has vetoed the draft U.S. resolution on Venezuela that sought to violate its sovereignty.

Evo also wrote in Twitter on Friday that the U.S. project insisted on giving "help" by force. "The Security Council has enforced the norms of international law," the President pointed out.

The resolution, in the opinion of the Venezuelan authorities and other countries opposed to military intervention, is interfering because it seeks to violate internal sovereign decisions, while encouraging the use of force against the Bolivarian Revolution.

Bolivia denounces and alerts the international community that once again it intends to confront our brothers, break up our Latin American and Caribbean unity, condemned Morales Thursday during the opening of the extraordinary session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly.

He warned that in recent weeks we have seen the serious damage caused by the "drums of war" and deplored all forms of armed violence in Latin America, declared a zone of peace by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

The Venezuelan representative to the United Nations, Samuel Moncada, criticized the fact that Washington opposes a resolution against the use of violence against Venezuela because the government of Donald Trump contemplates the possibility of aggression. (PL)
