Managua.- Local media related to the opposition say the AC will not sit at the negotiating table until the government does not implement "the agreements signed by the parties on the release of the more than 600 political prisoners and the restoration of fundamental freedoms."
The negotiators of the AC also demand guarantees for the return of the Nicaraguans who left the country in the context of the events of April 2018, when by violent means opposition groups tried to subvert the constitutional order of the country.
However, the GRUN delegation reiterated its commitment to the negotiation process and attended the meeting convened for today by the guarantors, the Apostolic Nuncio, Waldemar Stanislaw Sommertag, and the special envoy of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States, Luis Angel Rosadilla.
Regarding the demands, the GRUN reiterated today that as part of the Agreement on release of prisoners will be released all detainees in relation to the coup attempt of April 2019.
The process is supervised by the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is also responsible for reconciling the lists of the parties on persons to be released within a period not exceeding 90 days from March 20, the date on which the initiative was announced.
The GRUN requested the support and cooperation of the International Organization for Migration, a request that the organism agreed to analyze and study. (PL)
