Caracas.- "The gangs devoted to drug trafficking, contraband, extortion, corruption and kidnappings will be intervened with the full force of the law," Bernal said in statements to reporters quoted on Twitter.
The leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) noted that the Bolivarian Government's response will be strong against public officials involved in acts of corruption and linked to those criminal actions in Tachira.
"We will fight with the Constitution in our hands against all destabilizing groups," said Bernal, adding that anarchy will not be allowed on the bordering zone.
Among the objectives of the security plan, the protector of Tachira mentioned the fight against paramilitary groups that traffic with gasoline in the sector of Boca de Grita, as well as irregular groups that operate in Palmita and Caño Amarillo, in the northern part of the state.
Bernal also rejected threats against mayors in the bordering jurisdictions. "We will not accept intimidation wherever it comes from," he stressed. (PL)
