Luanda.- This is the first reform in almost two years of the administration of Head of State Joao Lourenzo, who in September 2017 changed the names and outreach of several government agencies, as well as terminating some similar structures such as the Cabinet of Revitalization and Execution of Institutional Communication.
Although for the moment their heads have not been appointed, the State Ministry for Economic Coordination and the State Ministry for Social Programs were created. The decision was taken on Wednesday at a Council of Ministers meeting led by Lourenzo.
As part of the proposed reorganization, the Secretariat for the Productive Sector will remain under the command of the Ministry of Coordination, while the Secretariat for Social Affairs will be subordinated to the Ministry of State for the Social Programs.
Such change aims to consolidate ongoing macroeconomic policies in the country, said the Minister of State and head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic Frederico Cardoso.
The measure will allow the government to conveniently monitor the implementation of rehabilitation programs for the productive sector to substitute imports and ensure understandings with international financial organizations. (PL)
