La Paz.- "The struggle does not end here, the most humble, the poor, the social sectors, the good patriots are going to continue this struggle for equality, for peace," said the leader of Aymara origin.
He added that it is important to tell the Bolivian people, that at this moment as indigenous president and president of all Bolivians it is necessary to seek that pacification.
With emphasis, he expressed the hope that the candidate of the Citizen Community, Carlos Mesa, and the opposition leader under the civic denomination, Fernando Camacho, have understood his message.
"I tell them and other civic committees, Morales insisted, don't mistreat our sisters and brothers, don't hurt humble people and poor people, don't cheat them with lies."
He asked both opponents not to offer people false benefits, and insisted that his great desire is to return social peace, tranquility.
Morales explained that he treated Bolivians with great respect, and also wanted the entire world to know how oligarchic groups conspire against democracy.
He described the situation in Bolivia today as historic and unprecedented, however he insisted that he had the obligation to seek this peace.
He reiterated that it hurts him very much that Bolivians confront each other, and that some so-called civic committees and losing parties resort to violence.
"For these and many reasons I am resigning," Morales explained. (PL)
