Washington.- A caravan of 40 children and young people, who left three days ago the city of Miami, Florida, arrived here today with a message against deportations of undocumented immigrants.

Arelis and other young children will try to call the attention of President Donald Trump on the policies that, according to the girl, are a threat to families of undocumented immigrants.

"We are 40 children and young people, the majority are 11, 12 and 13 years old, we decided to spend our vacations in this way because we know that at any moment our parents and ourselves are in danger of being deported," she explained in dialogue with Prensa Latina.

The 18-year-old activist said that the purpose of the initiative, called the Youth Caravan We Remain United, is to let the president know that the immigrants are united and will continue to fight with the conviction that they are already part of this country.

"I want the president to know that we have feelings and just as everyone else we are human beings," Arelis said. (PL)
