He said it in a preview of his 5th Governmental Report he will present next month.
In his anticipated message, Peña Nieto said the arrival of foreign tourists to Mexico increased by 50% in the past years.
He added that at the closing of 2016, the amount of arrivals exceeded 35 million, with a significant number of US citizens. Now Mexico is receiving twice the number of tourists than five years ago, the President remarked.
On his administration, Peña Nieto commented he has strongly promoted tourism, one of the six sectors generating most jobs, through attractive and cheap programs. (PL)
