Moscow.- A Russian senator said on Friday that the United States was likely involved in evacuating at least 20 ISIS leaders in Syria.

'However much the United States tries to deny its involvement in evacuating ISIS leaders, its experience for years, including in Afghanistan, leaves almost no doubt about such a possibility,' Senator Frantz Klintsevich said.

The Deputy Chief of Defense and Security Committee of the Federation Council (Russian Senate) has recalled that he personally experienced the 1980s Afghanistan war.

We were able to see there and feel very closely the US collaboration with Mujahideen, Klintesvich recalled, stating that Pentagon helicopters moved ISIS leaders out of the Deir Ez-Zor region.

The last August evacuation was not the first of its kind, according to the Russian senator, who said that with that attitude the United States is confirming its stance to prove the reason for its existence in a confrontation with Russia.

The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that the Russian Aerospace Force destroyed an ISIS underground command post, a communication center and killed 40 terrorists, including some of the most important leaders of that group.

According to the statement, it is estimated that among the ISIS leaders, targets of bunker-buster bombs launched by a Russian SU-35 fighter jet and Sukhoi Su-34 medium-range fighter-bomber, was the IS Defense 'minister', Gulmurod Jalimov. (PL)
