Washington.- The Republicans in the Senate of the United States decided not to hold a vote on the health bill, something that represents the end of the attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

The decision was taken today during a lunch held by Republicans, after the obvious failure of the bill because three Republicans announced their opposition to the initiative.

The decision represents bad news to President Donald Trump, who pledged to eliminate Obamacare during his presidential campaign and was defeated in July in his attempts to pass various initiatives.

Senator Steve Daines (from Montana) said that there was lack of votes and described the event as the defeat of a battle but not the war.

Senator Ted Cruz (from Texas) also recognized that his party did not have the support of the required 50 senators to pass the bill fostered by Bill Cassidy (from Louisiana) and Lindsey Graham (South Carolina).

Members of this party said that they will continue working to reform the health system, although it is not likely they have a version of the bill before September 30th, deadline for the Republicans to pass the bill with a majority vote without the vote of the Democrats. (PL)
