Caracas.- The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won 17 states, among them the opposition stronghold of Miranda. Socialist leader Hector Rodríguez will now be sworn in as governor in that state.
The self-styled Democratic Unity Board won five states of the country, including Zulia and Táchira, bordering Colombia and of great economic importance for the country.
President Maduro stated yesterday that the favorable results to the revolutionary process in the regional elections was thanked to the re-emergence of the heroic conscience of the Venezuelan people. (PL)
