The achievement of legal culture in the population of Las Tunas, the advice to entities and citizens, together with the support to the legislative process that the nation is experiencing were an essential part of the work of the Union of Jurists of Cuba in the province during 2021.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- The work between the country's leadership and the representatives of the legal field did not stop, despite the restrictions and human losses caused by Covid-19, valued Sergio Vargas Esperance, president of the organization in the territory, who highlighted, in turn, the intense activity in pursuit of contributing to each legal regulation.
"It was a year of many sacrifices and intense work, in which we served under very difficult conditions; even so we supported, with the greatest willingness the legislative schedule, a process in which Cuba is immersed and unprecedented in the country's history, because never before the Legal System had been subjected to such a comprehensive reform," he said.
The 2021 agenda included the analysis of the preliminary draft of the Family Code, a regulation strengthened with the criteria of these experts, which will be subject to popular consultation in the current calendar and will require, for its proper interpretation, the reflections of legal professionals in each community.
On the other hand, the ninth edition of the National Congress of the Union of Jurists of Cuba will be held in June and will be a space for the exchange of opinions and experiences, in addition to contributing to the improvement of the work of law practitioners on the island.
"We hope to arrive at the event stronger and for that, we are developing an organic process in each of the grassroots structures. In the same way, we must strengthen the scientific work of the jurists of Las Tunas and achieve greater representation in national events, and, in turn, consolidate professional improvement. At the same time, during this period we wish to consolidate alliances with the University of Las Tunas and strengthen the role of jurists in the process of specialized consultation of the norms that make up the legislative schedule."
In the current national context, the jurists of Las Tunas stand as fundamental entities in a society in which Law, justice, and laws are elements of indisputable social, political, and ideological content in the construction of the socialist project.
