The Venezuelan Government expressed its condolences to the relatives and the Argentinean people over the death of the historic leader of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, Hebe de Bonafini.

Caracas.- In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that it joined the mourning faced by Argentina in light of the "sensitive disappearance" of the comrade and worthy representative of brave and revolutionary women, who was a tireless defender of human rights.

Hebe is an example of struggle and courage, of the purest altruism and solidarity, said the communiqué, which was posted on Sunday night on the website of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

Bonafini was filled with inspiration and strength to raise the banners of just causes, and must live in the struggles of all brave women and in the voices of all those who fight injustice, the Foreign Ministry added.

“The sowing of this worthy Mother of Our America must be the seed of the tree of dignity and the defense of life,” the text concluded. (PL)
