Damascus revitalizes after years of terrorist war

The governor of the city of Damascus, the Syrian capital, Muhammad Tariq Krishati, announced the resumption of vital service projects, after being interrupted since the beginning of the war.

Damascus.- The tunnel currently under construction at the Moassat traffic circle was planned for 2011 but the onset of the conflict prevented its implementation, said Krishati, who also stressed that this project would reduce traffic jams in the area by up to 60 percent.

According to the official, it is a busy region and covers vital facilities such as the teaching, pediatric, and emergency hospitals, and the university dorms, as well as several ministries.

The project costs nearly three million dollars and is being carried out with national resources and personnel.

Its construction is expected to be completed before the end of this year, the official pointed out.

He reaffirmed that the project is important, vital, and strategic, and it is a sign of the country’s recovery. (PL)
