The new pipeline covers about 573 km in length.

Argentine President Alberto Fernández, Vice President Cristina Fernández, and Economy Minister Sergio Massa on Sunday were present at the official opening ceremony of the brand-new ¨Néstor Kirchner¨ gas pipeline regarded as pivotal for the South American country's domestic progress.

Buenos Aires.- As confirmed by the Secretariat of Communication and Press, the opening ceremony will be held at 15:00, local time, in Salliqueló City, in Buenos Aires province.

The new pipeline covers about 573 km in length, which will help make it possible to increase hydrocarbon availability at competitive prices.

During its construction process, it was able to generate as many as 10,000 direct jobs and 40,000 indirect jobs.

In a press release, the ¨Energía Argentina¨ Company stated the new pipeline can be considered historic, it will allow to transform productive matrix, increase gas supply and transportation capacity, and will also generate $4.2 billion in annual savings by substituting imports.

President Alberto Fernández, on the other hand, recently stressed the brand-new pipeline will provide Argentina with independence and sovereignty.

This project was talked about many times and never started. We started it in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic and we finished it in record time. (PL)
