The Cuban President toured the Majibacoa sugar mill

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, visited the Majibacoa sugar mill today, where he became interested in the production process, the most efficient sugar factory in the province of Las Tunas and one of the largest sugar producers in the country. Majibacoa, Las Tunas.- As part of the second government visit headed by the President to Las Tunas, the accompanying delegation visited areas of the sugar mill, in which the president spoke with industry workers, became interested in living conditions and the parameters of efficiency in crude oil production.

He emphasized the need for this mill to increase efficiency as it has done in previous campaigns, and the potentialities to fulfill the plan of the current campaign.

The Majibacoa Sugar Mill started the so-called small harvest on November 22, 2019, in which it was unable to reach its production plan of 14,700 tons due to the energy problems at the start, and difficulties with the turbogenerator number two, which has affected efficiency up to now.

In the next few hours, it will begin to function and the efficiency levels would increase. Besides, the delay of more than five thousand tons of sugar would be recovered from a general plan that exceeds 65 thousand 800, a goal that is attainable by the state of mood of the workers and the conditions of the industry.

The Majibacoa sugar mill was the second place visited by the President on a Government visit to Las Tunas. With 54 days of harvest elapsed, this mill has the enormous challenge of recovering the wasted time and consolidating its efficiency results.

Regarding the progress of the harvest throughout the province, the Cuban President was interested in the recovery of the delay in sugar production and said that Las Tunas is a productive pole that has the potentialities to become one of the most important in the country in the production of sugar and its derivatives.

The Cuban president Miguel Díaz Canel began his second visit to Las Tunas through El Bleo pig breeding center, in the municipality of Majibacoa, a unit that has been without services for more than 20 years and today has about six thousand pigs, with possibilities to reach nine thousand.
