The First Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee concluded with new proposals to continue strengthening the close ties of brotherhood between Cuba and Vietnam, especially in areas of mutual interest such as economy, finance, trade and investment, energy, science, technology, health, agriculture, among others.
The event, chaired by the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and by the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Duc Hai, ratified the determination to support and further strengthen the special solidarity, friendship and traditional cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting, Lazo Hernández stressed, allows raising the ties between the two peoples and governments as an eloquent demonstration of the solid relations, at the height of the ties cemented by the architects of this indestructible union, Fidel Castro Ruz and Ho Chi Minh.
He also recalled that over the years, both sides have shared experiences on the legislative exercise, constitutional reform or the functioning of the two Parliaments, an expression of the permanent exchange between socialist nations.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Hai stressed that, after 64 years of diplomatic relations, "solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba has developed continuously, in a fraternal and comradely relationship and with high political trust; invaluable legacy that both countries have preserved, developed and transmitted to future generations".
