Chinese and Cuban authorities inaugurated today the first phase of a Sino-Cuban biopharmaceutical company, located in the high-tech industrial development zone of Changzhi.
Changzhi, China.- The Caribbean nation’s ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, wrote in his account on the social network X that this step reaffirms the enormous “potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in this sector”.
The governor of Shanxi province, Jin Xiangjun, underscored the importance of securing the key factors and support services necessary for this joint work in drug research, development, and industrialization.
According to the Changzhi municipal government’s official website, the project goal is to promote significant breakthroughs in antibody biopharmaceutical production in Shanxi.
“Changzhi City is focusing on areas such as electronic information, new energy, biomedicine, and high-end equipment manufacturing, and is working to cultivate a multi-billion-yuan industrial park, as well as to build a provincial demonstration zone for comprehensive transformation and reform,” the official website adds.
Recently, Ambassador Blanco assured that China-Cuba ties in the biotechnology sector have been increasingly and satisfactorily developed for 20 years. (PL)
