Havana, Cuba.- In the framework of the 113th International Labor Conference, held in Geneva, both parties praised the excellent level of the links between their nations, based on the historic relationship established by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and the South African leader Nelson Mandela.
Ms. Feitó discussed the Color Cubano initiative with her South African counterpart. This national program addresses racism and racial discrimination, serving as a significant tool to honor and dignify the African roots and contributions to Cuba's labor system.
On her end, the South African official thanked Cuba for its sustained support and solidarity, particularly in the field of health.
Cuba and South Africa established diplomatic relations on May 11, 1994, which was the first foreign policy act of the democratic South African government. (ACN)
