The University of Medical Sciences of Las Tunas celebrated its 41st graduation, a significant event that marked the end of an academic cycle and the beginning of a new stage for 419 graduates in various specialties in the health sector.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- This event, full of emotions and satisfaction, brought together students, family members, and authorities in a festive and celebratory atmosphere.
The exceptional academic achievements were highlighted, with 70 Gold Degrees in Medicine, five in Stomatology, six in Nursing, seven in Clinical Bioanalysis, two in Nutrition, and four in Higher Technician in Stomatological Prosthetics.
Enelis Reyes Reyes, the rector, stressed the relevance of the event and the commitment to training the young health personnel. “Graduating as a professional, as a technician in the health sector, is the beginning of a brilliant career. The student stage represented years of maturity and competent growth and each experience lived contributed to personal development.”
At the event, 10 students were recognized as Comprehensive Vanguards, who stood out for their exceptional qualities and dedication. They received the title of Mario Muñoz Monroy Vanguards, in remembrance of the doctor killed during the assault on the Moncada barracks.
“This is a goal achieved with great effort. We must continue forward and not stop studying,” said Lidisbet Benítez Rojas, the most comprehensive student.
The event ended with a call to all graduates to continue to uphold the legacy of those who have fought for the health and well-being of the Cuban people. With impetus, this “army of white coats” took their oath.
