In the framework of the Provincial Act for the 66th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, held in the Tunas municipality of Colombia, new works of economic and social benefit saw the light of day in that territory.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- More than five million pesos were spent on construction work at the Rogelio Rojas Tamayo home for the elderly, in a municipality where 24.1% of the population is over 60 years.
The investment allowed the expansion of a room and 10 new capacities, bringing the total to 65. In addition, refrigerators, fans, furniture, mattresses, televisions, and other equipment were acquired for the grandparents' vitality and comfort.
The premises have benefited from the recovery of the façade, the refurbishment of the dining room, the plastering of floors and walls, the revitalization of the hydro-sanitary network, and the recovery of the exteriors, parks, and gardens.
Two houses were inaugurated in the Cepero Bonilla neighborhood for families affected by landslides. The buildings, of type 4, with zinc roofing and wooden walls, favor nuclei in which people with disabilities live together.

The Álvaro Barba Machado Meat Processing Plant started up a line of smoked pork products, which stimulates the processing of ham, bacon, chorizo, and pork shoulder, which will have a greater presence in the retail network.
