Cuba pays tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016) with multiple tributes dedicated to remembering his legacy on the eighth anniversary of his physical disappearance.

Havana, Cuba.- The memory of the Commander in Chief is appreciated in the thousands of messages on social media, where the main country's leaders, workers, students, elderly, and young people express with heartfelt words the weight of his physical absence and the presence of his work and ideals.

On X, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted the historic leader’s longevity: “No one says he is not here because he would lie. #FidelLivesBetweenUs. Even among children born after his departure."

Diaz-Canel assured that Fidel Castro, like the National Hero José Martí, endures in every just idea, in every achievement of the Revolution, and in the heart of the Cuban people.

The president also shared on the platform one of the most recognized phrases about the immensity of Fidel’s legacy, uttered by the leader of the Revolution Raúl Castro.

“Fidel is Fidel, we all know it well, Fidel is irreplaceable and the people will continue his work when he is no longer physically there,” he said. But it will always be his ideas, that have made it possible to raise the bastion of dignity and justice that our country represents,” he said. (PL)
