Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated today on the social media platform X his denunciation of the use of organizations like the Agency for International Development (USAID) against Cuba.

Havana, Cuba.- According to the top representative of the diplomacy of Cuba, between 1998 and 1999 USAID used more than six million dollars (USD) to carry out hundreds of illegal operations on Cuba.

Between 2001 and 2006, it allocated US$61 million for 142 illegal projects and activities against the Cuban people, he added.

Cuba has repeatedly denounced the use of organizations presented as humanitarian or for the defense of democracy -USAID among them- as fronts to penetrate and undermine societies, impose colonial values and contents, and control local elites and the press, to strengthen the hegemonic power of the United States.

Since his arrival at the White House last January, for his second term, Republican Donald Trump launched a crusade led by his presidential campaign donor Elon Musk against USAID, to reduce or dismantle parts of the U.S. government, which uncovered the dishonest performance of that agency in the world -an open secret.
