The Cuban vice president arrived in Vietnam.

“We feel a great pride for being again in this heroic country,” said the member of the Political Bureau of the Party and vice president of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa, to comrade Duong Nhoc Hai, first vice president of the People's Committee of the Vietnamese city, who welcomed him upon his arrival yesterday at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.- The leader of the Asian nation expressed that it was an honor for him to receive him in the city, venue of the national tributes for the half-century of the great victory of his people over U.S. imperialism.

Valdés Mesa expressed to Duong Nhoc Hai his satisfaction for arriving to this sister nation to “share with the Vietnamese people and authorities the joy of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the national reconciliation”. In statements to the press, he conveyed fraternal greetings to the heroic and victorious Vietnamese on behalf of the Cuban Party, people and government on such a special occasion.
He also recalled the brotherly ties between the two peoples, fostered by leaders Fidel Castro Ruz and Ho Chi Minh, and stressed the broad bilateral collaboration.

During his visit to Ho Chi Minh City, the Cuban Vice President will hold official talks with relevant authorities of the Party, State and Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. (Granma)
