As has become customary, the provincial branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS in Spanish) has designed a series of creative workshops to contribute to the people's healthy recreation and cultural improvement during the summer months.
Las Tunas, Cuba - This time, among the proposals, is a literature workshop, led by writer, teacher, and cultural promoter Yury García Fatela, scheduled for Wednesdays at 10:00 am, at the Casa del Joven Creador (House of the Young Creator). People of different ages, with the sole desire to learn about the fascinating world of Literature can join this initiative.
On the agenda, dance has its space, with the dancer and choreographer Erik Nazir Medina Bazán as coordinator, in which people over 15 years can participate. This invitation is for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 9:00 am, at the AHS headquarters.
For children over 6 years, the pyrography workshop Entre Luz y Sombra will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:00 am, at the headquarters of the youth artistic vanguard. It will be run by Yuslier Lozada Santiesteban, the vice president of the José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors (BJM in Spanish) in the province.
Likewise, on Tuesdays in July and August, at 4:00 pm, a song workshop will be held, led by singer-songwriter Jesús Ricardo Pérez Cecilia, suitable for those over 15 years of age. The young man told 26: ‘There we will talk about song in all its genres, not just trova. My main objective is for them to learn, but I have the dream that, in the end, each participant will have at least one composition of their own, and hopefully we will be able to socialize them.
‘Although this is the first time that I am leading a workshop as such, the AHS has experience in this type of initiative, which encourages communication between people and consolidates artistic skills. I remember especially in previous summers visual arts workshops for children that have even culminated in an exhibition. It's a very beautiful thing.
