The 35th National Radio Festival will be held in Artemisa from 16 October to the 20th. It is a nice way to celebrate our culture, the one that so many defend with passion from each radio station.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- Among the good news of the event, there are the results of the children of this land in the Program Contest, which had more than 600 works in competition.
Rosa María Ramírez Reyes, from Radio Libertad, was one of those honored, with the prize in Informative Genres for the interview Mariam, spring and poetry. Although it is not the first time that this journalist leaves a mark in the competition, of which she was even a judge last year, this fruit is extremely gratifying for her. "The tenderness with which Mariam grows in the face of life and everything she achieves, accompanied by her parents, is moving. She, who has Down syndrome, is overflowing with a singular affection. It was a pleasure to interview her on March 21. It became a conversation between friends, which is what we are, because I have seen her grow," she told 26.
She also stressed that this success is not only hers. "I feel it from my group, from the entire system of the radio station in Las Tunas. I have been moved by how many people congratulate me for it. It is also from Mariam and from Ramón Guzmán, the sound producer who always accompanies us, from my family, from my Puerto Padre. The awards sometimes come when you need oxygen in the professional order, and that was what happened to me. I am so happy," she added.
El Guateque, a space of guajira music that, directed by Juan Manuel Maestre Bello, every Sunday echoes the Creole humor and the beauty of our fields was also awarded. For his part, Yordanis Rodríguez Vega, from Puerto Padre, received a mention for a narration on athletics, as well as Sports Agenda, broadcasted by Radio Victoria with the seal of Gretel Yanet Tamayo Velázquez and Ángel Luis Batista Santiesteban, with a view to digital platforms, and the website of Radio Cabaniguán, which has been defended tooth and nail by reporter Yaidel Miguel Rodríguez Castro, from the municipality of Jobabo.
Aliuska Barrios, director of the provincial Radio System, without hiding her emotion for the awards, commented to this media outlet: "All this speaks of the professionalism and talent that characterizes us, both the young people and the experienced staff. It demonstrates the work of the radio as a multimedia and it is, in addition, the result of daily work because we do not do it thinking about festivals, but to always transmit good messages to the audience, who deserve the best. We feel it as a collective award."
