The Municipal University Center (CUM by its acronym in Spanish) of "Jesús Menéndez", in the province of Las Tunas, offers a new opportunity for the academic training of twenty young people as Higher University Technicians in Agricultural Innovation Management (TSUGIA in Spanish).
Las Tunas, Cuba.- This was announced by D. in Sciences Aramís Rivas Diéguez, deputy director of the entity, who reported that, in its second year of implementation, the course will begin in February 2024 and will promote food production in the northern part of the LasTunas territory.
He added that, through the Short Cycle Higher Education Program, highly qualified professionals will be available to advise the different actors of the Local Food System, in the process of territorialization and cooperativism of the Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security Law.
At the end of their training, graduates will be able to optimize the agro-productive, economic, social, and environmental results of agricultural production, credit, and service cooperatives, basic cooperative production units, and grassroots business units.
They will also be in a position to facilitate the design and implementation processes of various programs and Local Development Projects and to accompany the revival of agricultural communities in the municipality of Jesús Menéndez.
From the last week of August, those interested in training as TSUGIAs can go to the CUM, located at 33 S/N, El Batey, or call 31582095 during working hours to request information or to make their application official.
Rivas Diéguez said that to enroll, students must be graduates of the 12th grade or intermediate level technical school and be between 18 and 35 years of age. In addition, he pointed out that priority will be given to graduates of agricultural specialties, workers in agricultural production structures, and residents of rural areas.
