Las Tunas, Cuba.– Everyone hurried their steps to march up Peralejo Hill, a local landmark for its ties to the 19th-century Mambí wars against Spanish colonialism.
The preliminary figure, announced by the labororganization in the province, exceeds 95,000 people, who with their presence and firm steps will remember the León de Santa Rita, his independence lineage that fuels the spirit of resistance, and the unwavering faith in victory instilled by the undefeated Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The light of the radiant sun that illuminated the Rebel Island on January 1, 1959, enlivens the irreversible decision of the vast majority of Cubans to continue standing and fighting against the empire and the genocidal blockade it imposes on Cuba, as well as the intense and crude media campaigns that seek to break the popular unity around the Revolution, its historical leaders, and current generations.
The Health Workers' Union opened the parade, a right earned through the courage and love with which they assume their responsibilities in the face of the shortages and difficulties, without renouncing to save lives here and wherever their presence is needed.
A total of 15 representative blocs from all the unions demonstrate the working class's commitment to defend the Revolution and socialism. The youth closes the march as a symbol of continuity and with the energies that predict final victory.
At the parade's end, the celebration of a people committed to building a prosperous and sustainable socialist society and defending the just causes of the global proletariat will begin.
